Kellie is, in many ways, still a kid at heart. She has always enjoyed the things that most kids enjoy, like playing make-believe, day dreaming, and using her imagination to create and innovate. She loves adventures, challenges, exploring, and learning new things, and most especially loves to make art! Some of her favorite things to create are friendly characters that do the same things as she does: exploring, learning, discovering, and more! Now that Kellie is all grown up, she utilizes her childlike nature to help other children have similar opportunities for learning, creativity and growth.
Kellie graduated from Brigham Young University with her Bachelor’s degree in Visual Art with an emphasis in illustration. Since she was young, she enjoyed creating homemade paper dolls, designing her future dream home, and anything else creative she could think of. It wasn’t until college that she discovered that her love of creating could be channeled into illustrating for children.
Halfway through her college experience, she took a break to serve an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During that time she discovered a love of people and teaching. Since returning from her mission, she has continued to teach, starting at the Missionary Training Center in Utah and now teaching children here at Museo Art Academy. Here she gets the best of all her worlds: the creative imagination of childhood, the opportunity to teach, and complete immersion in the world of art!
