After School Drawing

 

Fall Lesson #1:  Shapes/Colors -- Balloon Bouquet

Students learned how to look through a "view finder" to find interesting sections of the balloon bouquet.

They carefully observed color (implied and local), shapes (positive and negative)

and light (highlights, shadows and reflected color).

 

This exercise helped the students to really SEE their subject and discouraged them from drawing the typical SYMBOL of a balloon.

The focus was solely on the process of discovery and not on the end result.
