Heather is a born and raised PNW native who has been a self-proclaimed artist since she was three. Early on in life, Heather discovered her passion for art as it was her way of discovering the world around her. As she grew, she used drawing and painting as a tool for emotional exploration as well, capturing imagery inspired from her dreams and imagination, and using visual media as a tool for communicating her inner world which she feels can be limited by language.
She graduated in 2007 from Central Washington University with a BFA in Graphic Design and regularly uses photocollogue as a tool for pre-sketching some of her more complicated pieces. To this day, her artwork is rooted in her childlike curiosity for how the world works around her in conjunction with her perception, which often times takes on a magical appearance.
Throughout Heather’s artistic journey she has been guided by wonderful mentors who taught her many lessons about life, the artistic process, goal setting, patience, and navigating past obstacles. While Heather is still learning and growing her personal artistic style, she is equally passionate about sharing her specialized knowledge with others. She is especially excited about working with young artists because their minds and imaginations are rich with potential, and the impact of this precious stage in life is immeasurable. Heather is overjoyed to be a teaching artist for Museo Art Academy and hopes her impact with the students brings their abilities and confidence to the next level.
