Assistant Art Instructors (camps)


MUSEO Art Academy is an award-winning leader in visual arts education programs for kids and teens. At MUSEO, it is our goal to cultivate creative confidence and individual expression in each student. We've built a solid foundation of programming in the Greater Puget Sound's Eastside, and we're now growing into some new and exciting areas.

 SUMMER POSITION:

Assistant Art Instructor (camps)

Location: Issaquah, WA (in person)
​We’re looking for two part-time (seasonal) assistant instructors to support lead instructors for our summer camps.
This position is temporary for summer 2022 only. The camps run June 20th – August 26th in groups of ages 5-7, 7-9, and 9-12. We cover a variety of art media including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and ceramics. A combination of half-day shifts are available.
 
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:
  • Rotate between multiple classrooms to provide lesson support as needed. Includes working one-on-one with students to provide additional guidance, managing materials, and coordinating with other instructors as needed.
  • Assist with classroom set-up and clean-up.
  • Supervise students during the one-hour lunch break. Lead students in a variety of games during break.
  • Assist lead instructors in supervising students, ensuring that they walk safely outside of the building to the nearby park for breaks.
 
Qualifying candidates will possess the following:
  • Proficiency in illustration, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and clay hand-building.
  • Working knowledge of art elements and design principles.
  • Minimum 1 year experience teaching art to kids, or similar experience.
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal direction.
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic personality who loves working with children.
  • Positive attitude, team player, reliable, punctual.
 
Working Hours:
We’re looking to fill two part-time shifts for this position:
MORNING SHIFT
  • Monday – Friday, 8:45 am – 1:00 pm
AFTERNOON SHIFT
  • Monday – Friday, 11:45 am – 4:00 pm

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Paid sick leave.
