Mohana Raje

​Mohana is a professional artist with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Mumbai, India and majored in Drawing and Painting. She gained her love for art at a very young age and decided to become a professional artist. As an art student she got an opportunity to experiment with a wide variety of mediums, new techniques and skills in painting. While studying she simultaneously gave private art lessons to children who were pursuing their dream of going to Art colleges. 

After graduation, Mohana stepped out in the world to find opportunities to do group and solo shows at art galleries and open studios in India and US. She has successfully exhibited her work in Silicon Valley Open Studios, summer art fairs and participated in in shows where she received awards for her watercolor work. She often gets special requests to do commission art for people portraits, pets or a specific subject matter. 

She also pursued interest in Graphics and Web Design. She worked for advertising agencies and commercial firms as well as teaching Graphic Design to budding digital designers. She realized that the days were long at work but the evenings gave a welcome respite to the arts - where she enjoyed the most teaching traditional art to kids. While teaching she believes that art offers opportunities for self-expression and creativity.

What inspires Mohana as an artist? The Sun. She believes that just like sunshine is good for the soul, so is Art. As an artist and an art educator her inspiration comes from the nature’s canvas, people, events, even the weather or just the fleeting moments of our everyday life. Her hope is that by sharing her joy for paintings, it will inspire and motivate students to create their best version of art and creativity. 
Mohana has recently joined Museo Art Academy and continues to enjoy her journey of teaching and sharing her art.
