Shereen Mordaunt is a graphic designer and self-taught artist. Originally from Hawai'i, her art reflects a love of the natural world. This love of flowers, leaves, and creatures of the forest is often depicted in her art. She's also heavily influenced by folk tales, folk art, and by old botanical plant identification books.
Having become a mother, a playful whimsy has been brought into her works, and she has enjoyed teaching art at her sons' school.
She prefers working in small format, and brings a sketchbook everywhere to capture inspiration. She draws sketches, colors in gouache, then scans into digital format where different motifs are combined to make pleasing patterns and compositions.
