"Stress-Free" Online Class Materials Lists

The recommended student grade materials for each class are listed below. We've adjusted the curriculum for all online classes to utilize common materials typically found at home. If you don't have a particular item on hand, no worries, substitutions are fine or the instructor will work out a simple solution with your student.

Digital Illustration
Items needed every week:
  • Fully charged iPad (OS 13 or later) with required Autodesk Sketchbook free app preloaded and open at class start time
  • Fully charged Apple Pencil 
 
Drawing (ages 7-10)
Items needed every week:
  • any multi-purpose printer paper (2-3 sheets needed each week)
  • pencils, eraser, sharpener
  • crayons or colored pencils 
  • oil pastels (optional)
  • markers
Items needed for week 2 and later of each month:
  • 9" x 12" Bristol paper (vellum, good for graphite and colored pencil or smooth, good for markers...1-2 sheets needed each month) -- a 9” X 12” sketchbook like this one is a good alternative to loose paper. Please do not use anything smaller than 9” x 12” for class work.
  • black ballpoint pen or fine black Sharpie
  • ruler
We encourage students to keep a separate sketchbook for practice work outside of class. Any size or design is acceptable.
