Monika MacDonald

Monika MacDonald has recently joined the MUSEO Team and is excited to spread her joy and passion for the arts to our community. Born in Poland, raised in the United States, and traveling extensively around the world, she has a passion and respect for diversity of cultures and their individual stylistic approaches. When traveling, she is always lugging around a journal or sketchbook to sketch the beautiful and awe-inspiring world around her. She finds each culture's visual interpretation of the world fascinating and loves to incorporate it into her work.

Monika’s life always had an underlying current of art and creativity at the core. From an early age, she won book cover contests in elementary school, coloring competitions at local banks, and awards at annual college art shows. The novel ArtQuest program, a public school magnet program for the Visual and Performing Arts at Santa Rosa High School, invited Monika to join its inaugural class of students. The program fueled her passion for art even more and paved the direction of her career.

After graduating California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, she worked as a graphic designer for several years. She later transitioned into online advertising, where she learned more about the world of art in the marketing and digital spaces. In 2018, Monika started Fire Girl Vintage, a home decor and furniture refurbishing business utilizing wood carving, wood burning, painting, and finishing techniques to create eclectic furniture and handmade signs. Most recently, Monika has entered the world of education, inspiring others to explore their talents and the gift of art.

Monika loves working with all ages and inspiring those around her to explore their own individual creativity and expression. She views art as a process where there is no good or bad art, but instead a way to learn new skills and then build upon them while exploring self-expression and interpretation of our world along the way.

In her spare time, Monika loves traveling, hiking, snow sports, learning new artistic techniques, playing on the pottery wheel and spending time with her family.
