project objectives -- Issaquah week 02 sculpture and mixed media camps

Want to learn more about the awesome art created by our campers this week? See below for a full list of the projects (and their objectives) created during week two of camp. Projects completed by students vary between age groups.

Found Object Sculpture
Objective: Demonstrate an engaging composition by focusing on various elements and principles of art.

Armature Animal
Objective: Demonstrate the construction of an armature by using various materials and techniques.

Paper Sculpture
Objective: Demonstrate the use of flat planes and joints by creating an abstract and geometric figure.

Scale in Sculpture with Air Dry Clay
Objective: Have students demonstrate an understanding of scale in sculpture, and how to properly use air dry clay building techniques to plan then build a sculpture.

Air Dry Clay Portrait
Objective: Demonstrate different building techniques and understanding of facial proportions by creating a portrait. ​

​Objective: Demonstrate how to create a sculpture by using mixed media and appropriate building techniques.

Multiple Registration Printmaking
Objective: Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental printmaking techniques by creating a print that demonstrates double registration by using various tools and techniques.

Weaving
Objective: Demonstrate various elements and principles of art by creating a unique weaving.

Metalworking Creature
Objective: Demonstrate repousse and chasing techniques by creating a creature inspired by mythology inspired creature.

Painting on Textured Bases
Objective: Demonstrate the ability to create texture through the use of a variety of materials. Students will then utilize proper painting technique to paint on a textured surface.
