project objectives -- Issaquah week 03 painting and sculpture camps

Want to learn more about the awesome art created by our campers this week? See below for a full list of the projects (and their objectives) created during week three of camp. Projects completed by students vary between age groups.

Grid Project
Objective: Demonstrate the grid method by creating one of the following variations below.

Acrylic Sky/Weather Painting
Objective: Demonstrate different sky types by using acrylic paints, color schemes and varying brushstrokes.

Watercolor Resist
Objective: Demonstrate various watercolor techniques and how to use resists to help preserve the whites of the paper.

Posterized Painting
Objective: Students will show the relationship between color and value by creating a posterized painting.

Blown/Drip Watercolor Painting
Objective: Demonstrate wet-into-wet techniques to create a watercolor painting with energy.

Fruit Cross-Section
Objective: Demonstrate the ability to create various textures, highlights and shadows through various applications with paints.

Found Object Sculpture
Objective: Demonstrate an engaging composition by focusing on various elements and principles of art.

Scale in Sculpture with Air Dry Clay
Objective: Have students demonstrate an understanding of scale in sculpture, and how to properly use air dry clay building techniques to plan then build a sculpture.

Armature Animal
Objective: Demonstrate the construction of an armature by using various materials and techniques.

Air Dry Clay Portrait
Objective: Demonstrate different building techniques and understanding of facial proportions by creating a portrait.

Cactus Sculpture
Objective: Demonstrate how to create a sculpture by using mixed media and appropriate building techniques.
