project objectives -- Issaquah week 07 painting and mixed media camps

Want to learn more about the awesome art created by our campers this week? See below for a full list of the projects (and their objectives) created during week seven of camp. Projects completed by students vary between age groups.

Grid Project
Objective: Demonstrate the grid method by creating one of the following variations below.

Acrylic Sky/Weather Painting
Objective: Demonstrate different sky types by using acrylic paints, color schemes and varying brushstrokes.

Watercolor Resist
Objective: Demonstrate various watercolor techniques and how to use resists to help preserve the whites of the paper.

Posterized Painting
Objective: Students will show the relationship between color and value by creating a posterized painting.

Multiple Registration Printmaking
Objective: Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental printmaking techniques by creating a print that demonstrates double registration by using various tools and techniques.

Metalworking Creature
Objective: Demonstrate repousse and chasing techniques by creating a creature inspired by mythology inspired creature.

Painting on Textured Bases
Objective: Demonstrate the ability to create texture through the use of a variety of materials. Students will then utilize proper painting technique to paint on a textured surface.

Cardstock Relief Sculpture
Objective: Demonstrate depth by creating a low-relief portrait.

Collage Town with Watercolor paper
Objective: Demonstrate the illusion of space by layering and executing different watercolor techniques. ​
