Ceramics5-week sessions | $210
ages 8-13
Hand-building, throwing on the wheel, and glazing—Students will learn the three primary methods of hand building (pinch pot, slab, and coil) and demonstrate proper construction for each of these. They’ll also train 1:1 with the instructor on the pottery wheel, working step-by-step through the throwing process. Select lessons will provide the additional opportunity to practice creating various types of surface designs with slip, glaze, and mark-making techniques. These 5-week sessions are introductory level with additional opportunity for returning students to further their knowledge and hone their skills by building on previously learned concepts and techniques with the instructor’s assistance.

DOES MY STUDENT NEED TO WEAR A MASK?
Please see our COVID-19 safety protocols listed on the Museo Website.
WHAT TO BRING, WHAT TO WEAR
We have all the necessary art materials and tools so no need for you to bring anything. While we do provide aprons, we encourage students to wear old clothes/shoes that they don’t mind getting messy.
PARKING
There is a covered lot under our building (drive past the main entrance to enter the parking area from the west side of the building). There is also uncovered parking on the west side of the building (near Premier Storage) and overflow parking on the nearby side street that’s directly behind the red caboose.
GETTING TO THE CLASSROOM
Please enter via the building’s main entrance where you can use the callbox to unlock the door. The 5-key code is listed above. If you have any troubles with the door unlocking, the sensor may be off. Simply give the door a firm push to align with the sensor, wait 30 seconds for it to reset, then re-enter the key code.
Our classrooms are located on the second floor. The elevator is pretty slow so the stairs are a great option if that works for you.
MISSING A WEEK OF CLASS
No makeups are available for missed dates.
